What is this?
We're collectively travelling from the Shed to our destination. Every km you walk, run, cycle, ski-erg, swim or row-erg counts toward the journey and nudges our marker across the map.
- Ground activities (walk, run, cycle, ski-erg) fill the land legs.
- Water activities (swim, row-erg) fill the English Channel crossing.
- Distances are "banked" for the right leg — e.g. swim while we're still cycling to Dover and your km wait for the Channel.
Logging a distance
- Open the mission page.
- In the Log distance card on the right (or below the map on mobile), pick your name from the Member dropdown. If you're missing, tap + to add yourself — or add a class (bootcamp group) as a single "member".
- Choose your Activity and enter the Distance. You can switch unit between km / mi / m.
- Set the Date if it wasn't today.
- Enter the Shed passcode in the Passcode field (you only need to enter it once per device — it's remembered).
- Tap Log it. The progress bars, map and leaderboard all refresh instantly.
Don't know the passcode? Ask your Shed coach.
Adding or removing yourself
The Member dropdown in the Log distance card has two small buttons to the right:
- + — add a new contributor. You'll be asked for a name and whether this is a class (a group that logs shared distance, e.g. "Tuesday bootcamp") or an individual. The Shed passcode is required.
- − — remove the contributor currently selected in the dropdown. Only works if they have zero logged entries; if not, delete their entries first from Recent entries. The Shed passcode is required.
Tip: pick your name in the dropdown first, then tap − to remove it.
Fixing a mistake
Every entry in the Recent entries list has two buttons:
- Edit — change the distance. Handy if you typed 50 instead of 5.
- Delete — remove the entry entirely.
You'll be asked for the Shed passcode the first time in a session. Be considerate — please only edit or delete your own entries.
Reading the map
- Yellow line = the cycling route we still have to cover.
- Blue solid line = the distance we've already clocked up.
- Light-blue dashed line = the Channel (covered by swim/row-erg).
- Red dot = where we are right now on the mission.
FAQ
My distance didn't move the map. Check that the entry is in Recent entries. If it is and the map still looks the same, we're likely on the Channel right now — ground km are banked for the next land leg, visible in the summary line under the progress bars.
I added a duplicate. Delete it from Recent entries.
